Coola Liplux SPF 30 Original Formula Lip Treatment Review

The Coola Liplux SPF 30 Original Formula all-in-one lip treatment is said to moisturize, soothe, nourish, hydrate, and protect your lips. It has UVA/UVB broad spectrum protection and it is hypoallergenic. The formula is enriched with vitamins, antioxidants, and fruit butters. The ingredients are 70%+ certified organic. Lastly, it is water resistant for up to 80 minutes.

These are a lot of claims, so I put this lip treatment to the test! Unfortunately, it did not turn out well. I really love putting buttery, creamy products on my lips. I found this one difficult to spread and it felt very uncomfortable on my lips. The formula is almost as if it was dried up from time, but that was just the regular consistency. Overall, this was a no-go for me.

In my last post I reviewed the Piping Rock Vitamin E Moisturizing Sticks, which I absolutely love! They do not have any SPF in them though. I have not found any lip balm/treatment with SPF that I really love. If you have any recommendations, please let me know in the comments below!

Piping Rock Vitamin E Moisturizing Sticks Review

If you are a lip balm addict like I am, you will love the Piping Rock Vitamin E Moisturizing Sticks! They are amazing! I recommend this product if you are looking for a lip balm that is very inexpensive and very hydrating. It definitely leaves your lips feeling soft and nourished. These sticks can actually be used on other parts of your body as well, like your face. Right now they are 3 for $1.99 on the Piping Rock website. As you can see, these moisturizing sticks are great to stock up on so you are never left in a bind!

If you are looking for a super organic lip balm that is still amazing, stay tuned! I am going to be doing a review on some awesome lip balms that I just discovered. They do not have any beeswax or petrolatum in them - so there is a super small chance that any of you with allergies will have any problems.

MAVEA - Water Filtration Pitcher Review

Hi loves! Today I have a different type of review for you. I know... it may sound a little strange that someone could get super excited over filtered water, but water has always been my drink of choice and the MAVEA Elemaris XL Water Filtration Pitcher is AMAZING! My pitcher is a 9-cup pitcher in the color eggplant.

This MAVEA pitcher is BPA-free and German-made. It removes chlorine, benzene, and other pollutants, as well as reduces heavy metals and agricultural chemicals. It also reduces limescale build-up in appliances when used while cooking.

The MAXTRA Advanced filter technology has a mix of activated charcoal and ion exchange resin beads to improve taste and reduce contaminants. It has a microscreen that reduces the release of carbon particles into the system. It also contains silver to provide antimicrobial protection and extend filter life.

This pitcher has a meter in the handle that digitally measures the real-time status of the filter life against time, volume, and water hardness. In other words, it will tell you when you need to change your filter! This pitcher has a pour-through lid, which allows you to directly fill it without any hassle.

The water tastes absolutely fabulous! I did a taste test- my tap water (which is said to be fantastic in the area I live) vs. the filtered water from this pitcher. I could definitely tell a difference. It tastes purer and cleaner.

I recommend this water pitcher to everyone! Even if you think your water is just fine (like I did), try it! You will see a huge difference and never go back to drinking tap water again!

Gluten-Free and Dairy-Free Pizza Recipe!

As unbelievable as it sounds, there is such thing as a gluten-free and dairy-free pizza! I know... super crazy! Who would have known? This pizza tastes absolutely amazing!! Here is my recipe:

1/2 Zucchini (sliced)
1 Avocado
1 Onion (your discretion on how much you want)
1 1/2 Slices Canadian Bacon
2 tbsp Earth Balance Organic Whipped Buttery Spread
Olive Oil
Canola Oil

Slice half of a zucchini. Chop up some of your onion. I love caramelized onions, so I chop a lot!

Melt one tablespoon of butter in a pan and cook your Canadian bacon. Set aside.

Melt one tablespoon of the buttery spread in a pan and cook your onions, stirring frequently until caramelized. I recommend putting your onions on a lower temperature and cooking for a longer period of time so they can really caramelize. Set aside.

VERY lightly spread olive oil on your pizza crust. Less is better than more. Put your pizza crust into the oven and cook as directed. DO not cook it for too much longer than directed. It will become hard and crispy... trust me.

Put a little bit of canola oil on a paper towel and lightly coat your pan. Cook your zucchini until golden brown on each side. Set aside.

Take your pizza out of the oven and let cool for a couple of minutes.

Lightly rinse your basil. Dry and slice it.

Put your pizza on a plate and assemble as follows. First place your zucchini slices on your pizza. Now slice your avocado and lightly salt. Place your slices on your pizza. "Sprinkle" your onions and then your Canadian bacon. Finally add your basil.

A Life-Changing Hair Scrub

I have really oily hair. I wash it every other day. Lately I've been having some "oily hair" dandruff, which is my worst nightmare. I decided to take matters into my own hands and Google every hair scrub possible. I came across one that seemed doable and tweaked it a bit. It ended up being fabulous! I now use it once a week :D If you have dandruff, whether you have oily or dry hair, you can definitely benefit from this Life-Changing Scrub!!

1/4 cup Olive Oil
1/3 cup Sugar
1-2 drops Tea Tree Oil

Combine ingredients into a bowl. Massage into your scalp really well. Rinse out scrub. Shampoo and condition as usual. If you have oily hair like me, you may have to shampoo twice.

My Favorite Gluten-Free and Dairy-Free Foods!

I have only been gluten-free and dairy-free for about a week and a half, but I have already found many amazing foods! Coming from an ex-ice cream and cheese addict, that is saying a lot. I always thought gluten-free consisted of rice cakes and very bland weird foods. Who knew it could actually be good? Let alone great? My switch in diet was not a choice, but a necessity. I have found it to actually be quiet easy. I have no complaints. Here are some delicious foods I have discovered:

- I added chopped walnuts, blueberries, and one teaspoon of vanilla - fabulous!

- I added lots of chocolate chips and one teaspoon of vanilla - too good for words!

Do you have any gluten-free and dairy-free foods or recipes that you love?? Please let me know in the comments below! I would really love to hear about them!

Happy May! + Rainy Day Playlist

Happy May!!! I hope it has been lovely for you all so far. I have been remise when it comes to posting in the last two weeks. One big change since then is that I am now gluten-free and dairy-free (out of necessity, not choice). This gives you a glimpse into why I needed to stop for a moment. But, now I'm back again! :D I am going to be posting my favorite gluten-free and dairy-free foods tomorrow!

As you all know, I love Holiday Insights. There are some interesting holidays this month. Tomorrow is Eat What you Want Day and Twilight Zone Day. The 13th is the only Friday the 13th this year. It is also Blame Someone Else Day. The 15th is National Chocolate Chip Day - yay! Be a Millionare Day is the 20th and Memorial Day is the 30th. The 31st is National Macaroon Day.

It has been raining a lot lately. It is actually supposed to rain here for most of this month, so I put together a Rainy Day playlist. Here it is:
