Fitness Friday - Week 26

Hi loves! Happy (almost) Halloween! :D Do you have any exciting plans for this weekend? Let me know in the comments below!

Saturday I did 21 push ups, 49 reverse crunches, 35 Russian twists, and 38 legs-up crunches (lying on back with legs up and bent like you are sitting in a chair). The weird numbers I chose for these exercises were because I coordinated them with football. Every time my team scored, I would do exercises! I did not do a different exercise for each score because I felt that would not have given me the best workout. I wanted to do a substantial amount of each exercise, which is why I only chose four different exercises. If you are a sports fan, this is a really great way to workout! Sunday I did 100 jumping jacks. I stretched for 32 minutes and danced for 45 minutes. I also did my Awesome Abs Workout. Yesterday I did my Awesome Abs Workout

As you can see, I did not complete last week's challenge. I was not feeling the best this week, so I decided to take a break and rest. I also iced some areas that were bothering me.

Since I did not finish last week's challenge, I decided to repeat it this week. For those who did complete the challenge, repeating it will still be beneficial for you. You can keep with the three workouts you chose last week or you can change it up a bit! I suggest that you switch it up, so you can recruit different muscle groups. If you did not complete last week's challenge, this is your second chance!

Fall Love

Sweater: Ultra Flirt // Boots: Aerosoles // Backpack: Payless - Abby

Fall is almost over and I am trying to soak in the last of it because snow is just around the corner. I love sweater weather! It was unusually sunny this day, so I wore a lighter sweater. The sleeves are perforated. I love this feature - it lets in a nice breeze, but it is still long sleeve.

My pop of color for this outfit was hot pink. I wore a NYX hot pink lipstick. It is a Lip Smacking Fun Colors lipstick of theirs in the shade Shiva (505A). I also wore a really cute new backpack from Payless. It is called the Abby Backpack. I absolutely love roses, so it speaks to me. My hot pink lipstick ties into the hot pink roses in the backpack.

Backpacks have been really in this fall! A lot of celebrities have been wearing them lately. Even if you are not in school, backpacks are very practical. You can fit a lot of things in them and you can go hands-free. They are also being made in a lot of awesome styles.

I really love this outfit! Let me know your thoughts in the comments below!

Fitness Friday - Week 25

Hi loves! #TGIF How did you do on last week's challenge? Which workouts did you choose? Let me know in the comments below!

I mentioned last week that I would probably go on a walk as a workout for the last time on Saturday. Well, it did not work out. The temperature dropped sooner than excepted... and I refuse to walk in freezing weather. haha So basically my walking days are over for a while.

Sunday I did 100 jumping jacks. I stretched for 30 minutes and I danced for 1 hour. On Monday I did 100 jumping jacks. I stretched for 30 minutes and danced for 35 minutes. I also completed my Awesome Abs Workout

Tuesday I did 100 jumping jacks. I stretched for 32 minutes and I danced for 30 minutes. I also completed my Bomb Butt Workout. On Wednesday I only stretched for 20 minutes. Today I did 150 jumping jacks. I stretched for 30 minutes and danced for 45 minutes. It was so cold today that one of the reasons why I decided to dance was because I needed to get warm!

Some dances that I am LOVING right now are:

Since the temperature where I live dropped 20 degrees overnight last weekend, I was inspired to write a little bit about the importance of warming up before working out. Warming up is always important. It is especially important in cold weather because your joints are more vulnerable to injury. Additionally, your tendons and ligaments will become stiff, which can cause tiny tears if you are not careful.

Any short warm up will do; however, I recommend jumping jacks. They are a quick and easy way to warm up your muscles. Remember this when it is cold outside and you want to exercise!!

All of the workouts I created include jumping jacks as a warm up. The challenge for this week is to do any combination of my workouts at least three times.

My Blogiversary!!!!

Hi loves! Today is my blogiversary!!! On 10/16/14 I posted The Autumn Tag... that was where it all began. In celebration of this momentous day, I got a cake! It is a chocolate ganache cake with Oreo's around the side and pink sugar flakes.

I just want to say thank you to you all for following my blog! It means so much to me- I am very thankful for each and every one of you! I am really excited about what this next year will bring. One piece of exciting news is that I am going to be expanding into YouTube (yay!!!). My first video will be up in November, so keep your eye out for it!

Again, thank you so much for all of your support! :D Have a wonderful weekend!

Fitness Friday - Week 24

Hi loves! I hope you all were able to complete the last challenge!! How did you do? Let me know in the comments below!

Monday I walked for 3 miles and I stretched for 30 minutes. On Wednesday I walked for 2 miles and stretched for 20 minutes. Yesterday I went on a 4.5 mile walk and stretched for 30 minutes. Today I completed my Full Body Workout and stretched for 35 minutes.

This week I just walked as much as I could. Tomorrow is the last day of warm weather, so I will probably go on a walk again. It is supposed to drop 20 degrees on Sunday and continue to go down from there. It will not be warm again until Spring. It is bittersweet for me because I really love the warm weather, but I also want it to snow! :D

You have two options for this week's challenge. You can decide what you would like to do!

Option 1: Complete my Full Body Workout two or more times this week.

Option 2: Complete two or more Fitness Friday workout challenges that I have created this week.

Color of the Month - October

It is October!!! Que the Harry Potter movies. I cannot believe Halloween is already at the end of this month. Do you guys know what you are going to be? Let me know in the comments below!

The color of October is Cerulean. It resembles the sky. This color signifies love, beauty, and balance.

The three characteristics that describe this color are...

It is calms, soothes, promotes ease, and attracts harmonious relationships. It inspires us to be strong and to take decisive action. You can use this color when you want harmony, peace, and serenity. You can also use it to add beauty to your surroundings.

How do I know about the color of the month? I found all of the information in the book Colorstrology by Michele Bernhardt. You can find it here.

Fitness Friday - Week 23

Hi loves! I hope you are all doing well! :D How did you do on last week's challenge? Let me know in the comments below!

On Saturday I did a 4 mile walk. Wednesday I stretched for 25 minutes and I danced for 30 minutes. Yesterday I went on a 1 1/2 mile walk. Today I went on an 8 mile walk. For part of my walk, I went a little bit on the trails through my local National Forest. I did this for two reasons: One, there were people around, so I was not as terrified. Two, I wanted to be able to say that I have walked through a National Forest. It just sounds cool... I am going to go further next time; however, I want to go a little bit earlier in the day. I also stretched for 15 minutes.

I did not work out as much this week. I am definitely going to make an effort to do better this upcoming week! I love to stretch and I only stretched for two days (terrible!). I am making a personal goal to stretch at least five days next week.

This week's workout is a full body workout. It will get your legs, arms, butt, and core. The jumping jacks and the high knees also bring a cardio element into the workout. Your challenge is to complete this workout at least once this upcoming week! Check it out below!

Empties! #1

Hi loves! I hope you are having a wonderful October so far. I have been collecting some random empties for some time now and I want to share them with you all.

~Sea Breeze Actives Deep-Clean Astringent~

This astringent is 10 fl oz and contains 1% Salicylic Acid. I absolutely love Sea Breeze! This is the first skin care product that I was introduced to by my mom at 12 years old. I have been using it ever since. I swear by it! In my opinion, no other astringent works as well as Sea Breeze.

It definitely cleans your face and gets rid of all of the dirt that has accumulated throughout the day. I use it on my neck, chest, and back as well. I would recommend this astringent to people with Normal/Oily skin. If you have dry skin, I would recommend it for your chest and back area only. It will be too drying if you use it all over your face.

Anyone can use Sea Breeze as a spot treatment! When I do not want to put it all over my face, I will just put some on a Q-tip and dab it on any blemishes that I have.

See Breeze does have an astringent for sensitive skin. If you have this skin type, I would check out that version. I have used their sensitive skin astringent and I love that one as well.

Overall, this is my tried and true!! I love it and I will never stop using it. If you have not tried it, you need to!

~Peppermint Sugar Scrub~

I blogged about this Peppermint Sugar Scrub at the end of last November. I made it last for quite a while, but I finished it around February. This homemade scrub is absolutely amazing!! Check out my blog post on it here.

~Dark Roca~

Dark Roca is toffee, almonds, and dark chocolate. The toffee is not a hard toffee, so you do not have to worry about breaking any teeth when you are biting into it! :) Dark Roca's are extremely delicious! They are just beyond words... If you love dark chocolate, you need to try them! The original uses milk chocolate. They are amazing too; however, I prefer dark.

~Clinique Take the Day Off Makeup Remover~

This makeup remover is interesting. I purchased a deluxe size of it. You can only use it on your lids, lashes, and lips. I love the brand Clinique; however, I would not purchase this product again. This makeup remover is not bad. I just prefer using makeup remover wipes. The only ones I will use are Ponds Original Fresh Wet Cleansing Towelettes with Vitamin E. They give you a lot of product on each wipe, which I love. Every other brand of makeup remover wipes that I have tried have really dry wipes. I feel like they do absolutely nothing. The Ponds wipes are soaked with product and work wonders! I would definitely recommend them over the Clinique liquid makeup remover! I am definitely up for trying makeup removers and seeing if they can compete with my Ponds wipes, however, none have passed that test thus far.

~John Masters Organics Zinc & Sage Shampoo with Conditioner~

I blogged about this shampoo, as well as more products from the John Masters line, last year. I really love this shampoo! The fact that it is organic is a huge selling point for me. It makes my hair healthy! After I ran out of this shampoo, I went back to an old non-organic shampoo. My hair started to get unhealthy, so I quickly went back to this one. Check out my original review here.

What do you think about the products mentioned in this post? Have you tried any of them? Will you be trying any of them? Let me know in the comments below!

Fitness Friday - Week 22

It is October 2nd, which means that there are officially 84 more days until CHRISTMAS!!! Yes, I am already thinking ahead and slightly panicking about all of the gifts that I haven't bought yet. Anyways... I cannot believe we are already in October!! Halloween is THIS month. Just unbelievable! I literally can't believe it. haha

How did you all do on last week's challenge? Were you able to stand on one leg for 20 seconds with your eyes closed? Let me know in the comments below! I was able to do it, but it was substantially more difficult than when I keep my eyes open!

Saturday I went for a 1 1/2 mile run. It was a combination of flat and hill running. I also walked for an extra 1 1/2 miles. Monday I walked 2 miles. On Tuesday I stretched for about 15 minutes. I also danced for 24 minutes.

Wednesday I went on a long 7 mile walk. It was an interesting excursion... We ended up seeing four dead snakes in a row. We think it was a family and they all got ran over at once. We saw a fox on the little path that we take and it started running towards us. Naturally, we ran for our lives. We took another route back; however, I swore I saw the fox way up ahead. While I was trying to pinpoint the creature that was walking back and forth (and jumping into the bushes and then jumping back out of the bushes...) we saw two deer. They jumped the fence and started to run across the highway. Then they realized that there were cars... They ran back and jumped the fence again to get onto the path. They did not run away though. Instead, they stopped and starred at us. So, we decided to casually (not really) walk away. As we were walking, I saw the fox again! There were some small slabs of asphalt next to us, so we each took one for protection. Then we decided to take another alternate route to get back home... Thankfully, we safely got home without any harm. Literally, that fox was insane! We have seen it before too... All I am going to say is that it better not cross my path again!

Yesterday I stretched for 24 minutes and I danced for 30 minutes. I also walked about 1 1/2 miles. Today I stretched for about 10 minutes. I danced for 28 minutes as well. Afterwards, I did the Dance! Workout with Barbie workout. It is about 25 minutes long. Mentioning it in my last Fitness Friday post really got me wanting to do it again. When I was doing it, I actually remembered the entire thing- it really brought me back. If you have not done the Barbie workout, you really need to. It is life changing. Truly life changing.

This week's challenge is just about the basics- it is making sure that you remember all of the little important things when it comes to fitness. The first thing you should do is STRETCH. Stretching is so important! It gets your blood flowing and warms up your muscles so you have a much smaller chance of getting injured. It is also really nice to be flexible. Flexibility also lessens your chances of getting injured as well.

The second thing you should do is DRINK WATER. I love to make lists. I even put on my lists to make other lists. Lately I have been putting eight hearts on my list for each day. I fill them in when I have drank a cup of water. This system reminds me to drink water and keeps me on track for the day. It is never good when you realize you have five cups left and it is 10pm at night! :) So, find somewhere that you can put your hearts (or boxes) and start keeping track of your water intake!

The third and final thing you should do is ICE yourself when and if you are hurt. Ice reduces inflammation and reduces the pain of the injury.
