Fitness Friday - Week 3

It's Fitness Friday!! How did you do on last week's challenge? Did you try something new? What did you do? Let me know in the comments below! This week I had finals. Oh the joy. I didn't get to go to the gym as much as I usually do. I only went one day this week. I'm actually really missing it!

Saturday I took a Mat Pilates 2 class and did Zumba right after it. I mentioned how much I love doing classes back-to-back in last week's post. I really recommend it to anyone who has a gym membership. On Sunday I did my Quick Fix Power Yoga DVD. There are three workouts in this DVD and I did all three.

On Wednesday I went for a hilly 1.25 mi walk. Yesterday I danced for 75 min. Sometimes it is really late at night and I just feel like having a dance party. Once I start feeling the beat I can't stop! haha Today I wasn't able to go to the gym (or workout), but tomorrow I'll be back!

~Challenge~

Stop focusing on your long-term goals! Yes, it is good to make them; however, focusing on your short-term goals will get you to where you want to go. For instance, many people say, "I want to get fit. I want to get healthy. I want to lose weight." But then what? What are they supposed to do? There is no exact formula to accomplish those goals. They tell you to exercise and eat healthier. Where do you start? What type of exercise? It all becomes very overwhelming.

What you want to do is set short-term goals. You start off by saying your goal is to run 1 mile without stopping (and feeling like you're going to pass out when you're through). Once you get there, your goal can be to run 1 mile in 9 minutes. Then your goal can be to run 2 miles! Do you see where I'm going with this? You will be getting more fit in the process. You will be losing weight. The difference is that you are not focusing on it. You are focusing on your short-term goals. In time, they will get you to where you want to be as long as you continue to make short-term goals.

Last week I told you I want to gradually build up to working out 5+ days a week, but for now I'm going to focus on four days. This is my current short-term goal. Once I am able to sustain 5+ days a week, I will make another one! What is your short-term goal? Let me know in the comments below!

PS. I haven't been posting anything other than Fitness Friday's for a couple of weeks now. I will be posting regularly again starting this week!!! Make sure to follow me on Bloglovin', Twitter, and my other social media accounts so you stay updated on my posts!
